Full Roof Replacement on a Whitesboro, TX Country Home
The Project
This is a real Lankford job in Whitesboro, photographed as it ran. The crew's own note on the record is short: our team installed a new roof on this house. The photographs fill in the rest.
It is a big single-storey country home in stone and brick, with dormers across the front, a deep porch, and a stone chimney in the middle of the main slope. Plenty of roof, and plenty of places for a roof to go wrong.
What Came Off First
The tear-off took everything back to the deck. In the photographs below you can see the decking and the framing open around the stone chimney, with the old material stripped away and synthetic underlayment already going on behind it.
That is the moment on any roof replacement when you find out what you actually have. A chimney is the most common place for a roof to leak, because it is where the roof stops being a roof and has to be made watertight against something else.
How The Crew Worked It
The crew worked it in sections, ladders up the gable ends, underlayment down across each plane before any shingle went on. A house this size is not one roof either: there are several planes meeting at different pitches, and each junction is its own small job.
Working in sections is also how the property stays usable while the work runs. The pool and the patio are right under the rear slope, so what comes off has to be controlled rather than simply dropped.
The Result
The photographs below are the finished roof and the house it sits on. The homeowner left Lankford a 5-star Google review:
"Lankford Roofing did a great job! Bryan was very helpful and easy to work with! Highly recommend"
